#APMP2019: Certification Day Roundup

Highlights from the unofficial day one of APMP’s premier annual event

Certification Day of APMP’s #APMP2019 is a wrap. Bid and proposal professionals and vendors gathered at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida, to network, train, educate, and learn in an effort to better this unique industry. From registration through the Regi-ception, sponsored by Lohfeld Consulting Group, attendees were treated with a warm welcome to the event of the year.

The day began with certification training, testing, and workshops, which continued through the afternoon. Several courses for all levels of APMP members, from Foundation to Practitioner to Professional, brought in an attendance of 265 to the certification courses.

As certification sessions came to a close, exhibitors were setting up their booths. A total of 41 exhibitors—a BPC exhibition record—graced the floor to showcase products, such as proposal automation solutions, as well as consulting services.

These companies support APMP’s members, and they do it to launch the industry into a promising future. For some, it’s the one chance each year to meet face to face with customers. “This is the best place to get in front of our customers,” said Craig Melton, business development director at VisibleThread. “We have clients all over the world, and so many of them come to this great event each year.”

With exhibitors settled in and attendees geared up for the evening, the Lohfeld Consulting Group-sponsored Regi-ception kicked off with a bang. Networking opportunities abound, attendees enjoyed refreshments and light fare and were able to wind down on the unofficial first day.

Lohfeld Consulting has been supporting APMP for years, and CEO Robert Lohfeld was happy to do so for an association moving the industry forward. “I think it’s really important to help the next generation,” Lohfeld said. “We want to share our ideas in the profession, and we know it’s important to help cultivate the best and brightest here.”

#APMP2019 has certainly started off on the right foot. With a full slate of networking, panels, and learning sessions on the horizon, it’s safe to say this event will continue to make attendees #ProudToBeAPMP.
