In Memoriam

APMP mourns the passing of John Ballard, CP APMP, senior proposal manager at CACI, and Thomas C. Boren, APMP Fellow, president of T.C. Boren & Associates, LLC.

Ballard, of Ohio, passed away earlier this month. He was an APMP member since 1994, belonging to the Valley of the Sun Chapter.

“John was an APMP board member in the early years and significantly contributed to educational projects for the organization,” says Eric Gregory, CPP APMP Fellow. “He was a true professional, well-known for being a large presence with a booming voice.”

Boren, of Illinois, passed away in late February. He was a founding member of the APMP Board of Directors and a former chair of APMP’s National Advisory Council.

“Tom represented a powerful voice in the profession,” Gregory says. “His presence propelled APMP forward in ways critical to our early history. Those of us who knew him and benefited from his sage advice will be forever grateful for this professional APMP titan.”

“We have to say goodbye to these two industry legends, but we will continue to celebrate their legacies,” says APMP CEO Rick Harris, CF APMP. “We would not have the robust community of members and nearly 12,000 people who are certified without the foundation that John and Tom laid for our industry and association.”

APMP extends our condolences to John and Thomas’s families and friends.
