And the Oscar goes to …
Following the Academy Awards, much of this week’s water cooler talk is focused on films and performances, and which movies we need to add to our Netflix queue. So, in the spirit of the Oscars, we’d like to give you some of APMP’s “coming attractions.”
So, coming soon to a chapter near you:
Bid & Proposal Con Speaker Invitations – February 2019
Based on your crowdsourced nominations and votes, Bid & Proposal Con speakers have been selected, and invitations will be extended within the next week.
This is APMP’s second year crowdsourcing our conference agenda. We received more than 255 speaker nominations—with only 50 spots to fill—and then members voted for the topics they most wanted to hear. We’re thrilled to have such engaged members who are sharing with us what they want to see and hear. Thank you for your feedback; we’re listening, and we’re excited to deliver the content you asked for.
Once speaker invitations have been accepted, we’ll be able to release this year’s lineup. Stay tuned …
APMP’s Strategic Plan – April 2019
Members will receive a high-level presentation of the APMP Strategic Plan, which is essentially the playbook for how we’ll expand and improve the organization over the coming years. Our board members met in-person late last year to craft a detailed plan to build the industry, welcome more members, and enhance the membership experience for current members in the U.S. and abroad.
In April, members will get to learn the four core areas of focus and strategic actions that we’ll use to achieve those goals. Across all of our initiatives, you’ll find a common theme: How do we make the member experience the best it can be?
To answer that, we plan to extend our reach into adjacent and executive roles. Expect more international expansion—and more programming to enrich the membership experience for members, wherever they may be located. And more … look for the full Strategic Plan Presentation in late March.
APMP U.S. Benchmark Survey – May 2019
This spring, APMP will release its inaugural benchmark survey, establishing U.S. baselines for a range of factors that define the proposal management environment. As a benefit of membership, you’ll be able to see how your team stacks up in terms of leadership involvement, team structure, and other critical aspects.
Beyond naming industry norms, the survey also identifies factors that correlate to a proposal team’s success. It’s a deeply insightful study; we believe it will guide you toward quantifiable best practices for your teams and organizations.
Be on the lookout though APMP members should be alerted that this report might get an earlier release! Also, if it plays well to audiences in the US, it may debut in other countries.
That’s a great lineup for the first quarter of 2019—and it’s thanks to a phenomenal supporting cast of the board of directors, members and volunteers. We’re excited to share the full features with you soon.
