Nominations are now open for APMP members who are interested in serving on the 2021-2022 APMP Board of Directors. There are up to six director positions available, and members may self-nominate (or encourage a colleague to do so) by the nomination deadline, Friday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. U.S. eastern time.
Serving on the board is a two-year term, during which directors are expected to develop, maintain and implement APMP’s strategic long-range plan. Potential candidates should also believe in diversity, equity and inclusion; be able to devote adequate time; work effectively with others; have a strategic mindset; and be active within the industry.
“Every member of the board represents APMP and is a crucial part of leading our association into the future,” says APMP CEO Rick Harris. “Those who fill these roles are not only dedicated to growing the organization, but they’re dedicated to driving the strategy that allows bid and proposal professionals around the world to grow and thrive in their careers.”
To apply, members should review all requirements and criteria, watch the Power Half Hour board service tutorial, complete the nomination form and then create a video (up to six minutes) that addresses the following questions:
- Why do you want to serve on the APMP Board of Directors?
- What ideas do you have to help increase APMP membership?
- What makes you an effective leader, and how do you think that helps APMP?
Submit your video and resume to Rick Harris at rick.harris@apmp.org. Candidates who meet the requirements will be presented to the current board, who will then vote to select the new members. APMP will declare the results of the election no later than the first week of December 2020.
