The scores are tallied and the first of the Charlie Divine APMP Certification Scholarships have been awarded this year to 27 professionals in 21 APMP chapters throughout the world. The selected recipients are from 68 total entries in the first year of the annual scholarship program.
APMP invited its members to apply for the certification scholarships in October 2018 during an open call for nominations. APMP members in good standing were eligible for the certification scholarship and were encouraged to apply through their chapter. Applicants were required to state why they want or need the scholarship, and the entries were judged by a panel to determine one scholarship recipient from each chapter. In order to select scholarship recipients, the panel considered the applicants’ need, commitment to professional development, and longevity with APMP.
The first APMP scholarship recipients are listed here.
APMP awarded nine Foundation level scholarships, twelve Practitioner level, and six Professional Level Scholarships.
All recipients will be eligible to use their APMP certification scholarships for up to one year – starting March 1, 2019, through April 30, 2020. In addition to receiving their scholarship notices, recipients will be celebrated alongside Charlie Divine on stage if they are attending APMP’s Bid & Proposal Con May 20-23 in Orlando, FL.
“We had a tremendous turnout for the first Charlie Divine APMP Certification Scholarships, and we hope to break 100 nominations next year,” said Ginny Carson, CPP APMP, and Chair of APMP’s Board of Directors. “This program was designed to help our chapters promote APMP certification to our members globally, and I am excited to meet the recipients at Bid & Proposal Con with Charlie,” she said.
Mr. Divine participated in the review of scholarship applications and said, “It was very gratifying to see the importance that applicants placed on advancing their careers through APMP certification.”
The next call for entries for the Charlie Divine APMP Certification Scholarships will be in October 2019. Mrs. Carson reminds all of those who were not selected this year, to try again next year.
